Based out of the Edmonton Division Edmonton (EDE) location, an Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing and processing incoming payments from customers. They ensure accurate and timely collection of outstanding invoices, resolve any billing discrepancies, and maintain detailed records of transactions. Additionally, they may communicate with customers to address payment issues, negotiate payment plans, and provide exceptional customer service. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and proficiency in accounting software are essential for this role.
Essential Responsibilities
Daily cash application, generation of customer invoices and credit memos
3rd party portal billings (Ariba, OpenInvoice, Cortex)
Schedule, attend and participate in monthly Accounts Receivable meetings
AR Collection activities as required
Credit Risk Monitor credit checks and reporting
Perform monthly closing activities for AR function
Prepare AR Balance Sheet reconciliations and reporting packages
Assist Project Management with billing discrepancies and reconciliations
Cross train to cover basic accounts payable functions as required
Review records in detail for sales tax requirements to determine whether customers are taxable.
Perform standard tasks under supervision.
Refers all complex issues to higher levels.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Graduate or General Education Diploma
0-3 years basic knowledge of billing and receivables process.
Basic knowledge of procedures, credits, and collections.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficient in using Oracle ERP AR modules
Hands-on experience with 3rd party billing portals
